Focus and Scope
The Journal of Ancient Philosophy is an e-journal published by the Department of Philosophy of the Universidade de São Paulo (USP, Brazil). It was founded in 2007 and publishes articles, reviews and textual notes on ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, as well as translations of classical texts into Portuguese or Spanish. The journal also intends to provides information about Latin American symposia, meetings and conferences on ancient Greek and Roman philosophy. It is published twice a year, in May and October.
The purposes for which the Journal of Ancient Philosophy was created are to foster classical studies in Latin America, providing scholars a vehicle for the publication of researches and discussions, and to promote international dialogue across different languages and approaches. It is open to all scholars worldwide to submit contributions for inclusion in this Journal. The accepted languages are: Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, German and Italian. Every contribution is evaluated by a double-blind, peer-review process.
Peer Review Process
All submissions to Journal of Ancient Philosophy are reviewed by the Editor. They may, in addition, be submitted for review to external referees who shall use a double-blind peer review system, which means the manuscript author(s) do not know who the reviewers are and the reviewers do not know the names of the author(s).
The Journal of Ancient Philosophy is published twice a year, in May and October.
