Author Guidelines

All submitted manuscripts should contain original work neither published previously nor under consid­eration for publication elsewhere.

1. Contributions should be sent as an e-mail attachment to the Managing editor e-mail address. If you use a word-processing package other than Microsoft Word, or if you use a Mac computer, please paste the contribution into an e-mail message as well as send it as an attachment. The text should be 1.5-spaced on A4, if possible in Times New Roman size 12. Footnotes should be numbered consecutively in single line-spacing. They will be printed at the foot of each page.

2. Greek should not normally be transliterated, except in the case of well-known words and phrases.

3. In references to books, the first time the book is referred to should contain the name of the author or authors, the complete title, place and date of publication,  e.g.:

Pereira, Oswaldo Porchat. Ciência e Dialética em Aristóteles (Editora UNESP 2000), p. 97.

Ancient authorities should be given as in Homer, Od. 2.4; please give latin titles for Plato’s and Aristotle’s works.

The volume-number of a periodical should also be given.

At the end of the paper, a complete bibliography list should be given as in the first reference of each book.

4. After the title, the author’s name should be given on the the right side, his or her institution italicized under brackets.

5. The contribution should be preceded by an abstract written in English, whatever be the language of the text.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Where available, URLs (including DOIs) for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1.5 spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
