FAMILY INFLUENCE IN THE FAMILY COMPANY

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between family and organization, presenting the background of the family histories built at the same time to the development of the company. For this, were rescued life histories of family members who work or worked in the family business. The focus of the analysis was the comprehension of the link established between the subject and the organization, comprehending the influence of family ties in this relationship. Family influence was perceived at the entrance of the subjects in the organization, remaining and when they leave the company. The histories show overlapping processes of institutionalization, which occur almost concurrently in the subjects involved. The values related to the company are as deeply rooted in the subject as those related to their own family itself. The histories highlighted in this research illustrate the implications of this finding on the subjectivity of the subject, in the linkage between them and the organization and in the organizational itself, which has its history tied up in these events.
