Formação, especialização, diplomação: da universidade à instituição de ensino superior

Resumo

O artigo procura discutir os sentidos da formação, da especialização e da diplomação em diversos momentos da universidade/instituição de ensino superior no Ocidente. Oferece um enquadramento teórico para acompanhar e interpretar as transformações históricas que atingem as ideias de formação e universidade. Articula a situação atual da universidade/instituição de ensino superior com as assim chamadas "sociedade do conhecimento" e "sociedade do consumo", a fim de evidenciar o nexo que se estabelece entre diplomação em massa e consumo. Por fim, glosa alguns problemas que atingem as instituições de ensino superior no mundo contemporâneo e no Brasil em particular.
