Abstract

This interview took place on 15th September 2015, at the University
of São Paulo, when the Director Patrick Sutton and the painter and actor Brian Maguire arrived from Rio de Janeiro where Beckett’s play Waiting for Godot was performed.

Author Biographies

  • Fábio Souza Andrade, University of São Paulo

    Fábio de Souza Andrade is Professor and literary critic at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. He is author of many books and articles on Samuel Beckett, Samuel Beckett: o silêncio possível (Ateliê, 2001) among others. He translated and introduced Fim de Partida [Endgame] (Cosac Naify, 2002), Esperando Godot [Waiting for Godot] (Cosac Naify, 2005), Dias felizes [Happy Days] (Cosac Naify, 2010) and Murphy (Cosac Naif, 2013). He was visiting Professor at Université Paris 8 and Freie Univesitat Berlin. He coordinates a group of studies on Samuel Beckett.

    Luiz Fernando Ramos is associate professor at the School of Communication and Art of USP (The University of São Paulo). He obtained his PhD in the Department of
    Brazilian Literature in the Faculty of Philosophy, Literature and Human Sciences at USP, and has been teaching The History and Theory of the Theatre since 1998 in the Department of Performing Arts of USP.
