A avaliação do uso da toxina botulínica A e da cinesioterapia na melhora da marcha do portador de paralisia cerebral do tipo hemiparético

Foram estudados 14 pacientes com paralisia cerebral do tipo hemiparético, eqüinismo dinâmico e idade entre 3 e 9 anos, com média de 5,93 anos. Os pacientes foram distribuídos em dois grupos: Grupo I – 7 crianças que foram tratadas com toxina botulínica tipo A (TBA) nos músculos gastrocnêmios e solear e tratamento cinesioterápico; Grupo II – 7 crianças que receberam apenas tratamento cinesioterápico. Avaliaram-se: a amplitude de movimento do tornozelo, o tônus muscular, a ação do músculo tibial anterior, a velocidade, a cadência da marcha, além da análise observacional da marcha e grau de satisfação dos pais. A análise estatística dos resultados mostrou, com significância, que no Grupo I houve melhora de todas as medidas avaliadas num intervalo mais curto de tempo. No Grupo II não houve melhora de todas as medidas avaliadas e o ganho em algumas medidas ocorreu num tempo mais longo.
