Among the taxa of the Sítio Itapema taphoflorula from the Carboniferous basin of Cerquillo, SP, Brazil, is the Glossopteridophyta known from the "fertiliger" Brasiloide (MILLAN & DOLIANITI, 1980b) and now from the genus Rubidgea, that is described in the Itararé Subgroup of Safo Paulo State. Three species, R. obovata, R. lanceolata, R. itapemensis now. sp., and R. lanceolata var. truncata nov. var. have been described. The generic and specific diagnosis has been emended on the basis of the Cerquilho specimens. The material is registered under the identification of Col. DGP-MN-Pb, of the Paleobotanical Sector of Departamento de Geologia e Paleontologia do Museu Nacional, Rio de Janeiro, depository of the collection.
