This paper reports an outbreak of Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD) occuring in broiler chickens derivated from immunized breeders, housed in four neighbouring poultry farms and having a vaccinated or unvaccinated status to IBD virus. High mortality, bad performance and occurence of miscellaneous infections were the main field findings. IBD was experimentally reproduced in SPF and commercial chickens by 8ursa of Fabricius homogenate inoculation. IBDV - antibodies and virus particles (33 to 38 nm) were detected in the experimentally inoculated birds.Downloads
