Abstract

The parasite load (P) and correspondent number of eggs per gram of faeces (EPG) were counted in 39 Eurytrema sp infected cattle from Southwestern localities of São Paulo State. By statistical studies involving regression, the following mathcmatic model was obtained: P = 63,1050 (EPG + 1 ) 0.5616;  R2 = 38 2%. In such conditions, false negative eases (EPG = 0) should harbour an average of 63,1 flukes in its pancreas and positive ones (EPG ≥ 1) an average equivalent or superior to 93,2.
