Abstract

Brazilian companies that develop software for information systems are aware of the pressing need for continuous improvement in process quality. Towards aligning business processes with software routines implemented in an information system, one should address the institutional practices of software testing. From a socio-technical perspective and with the help of two theoretical models developed in this study to outline and guide the testing activities from a managerial and process-based perspective, in-depth interviews with ten experts in software quality and software testing enabled us to identify and validate analytical categories that mediate the relation between those two models. The result was the development of an organizational structure to support managers, developers and customers in software projects for enterprise information systems.
