Whit the increasing use of the Information Technology (IT) by organizations, it becomes necessary to study the strategic alignment between the Strategic Plan of Information Technology (SPIT) and the Strategic Business Plan (SBP), besides understanding the factors which explain the level of that alignment. Thus, this work aims to verify the maturity level between these plans and to identify the Critical Success Factors (CSF) that favor their alignment. The analysis results of two companies in the southern region, one large and another small, had different levels of strategic alignment between SPIT and SBP. The first had an alignment of level 5, and the second, level 3. Through the diagnosis of CSF, we identified divergences as to the valorization of the business knowledge by the IS manager; creativity of the IS area in the strategic use of IT; knowledge of the objectives and goals of the business by the IS manager.Downloads
