Abstract

This report aims to present and review the proposal and the actions of an extension project on the promotion of income generation activities and cooperative partnership. This extension project was developed with 35 artisans in Ribeirão Preto and involved undergraduate courses in occupational therapy, administration and economy. The actions were developed over a period of nine months, from February to November 2008, where it was possible to present the principles and experience of the Solidarity Economy (participation, equality, democracy). For the artisans the project resulted in knowledge of new ways to organize themselves to generate income, promoting their product and social relations. For the undergraduates, the experience of multidisciplinary work, based on principles of solidarity and in establishing a satisfactory relationship with the community enabled the review of the relationship established with this community and with the knowledge that it has, allowing the collective construction between university and community, knowledge and experience about the cooperative and solidarity work.
