Knowledge of nursing aids on care given to premature newborns

Abstract

The objective of this study as to verify the knowledge nursing aids, working night in premature nurserym on physical characteristics of premature newborns and on some prodedures done to them, eitheir experiencing complications or not. The population of this study was of 33 nursing aids of 12 hospitals of Grande São Paulo. The data were obtained, through internew using a structured form. Ecletic criteria was used to evaluate the knowledge of the nursing aids, and classified in the categories of "very good", "good", "regular", and "poor". Through the data obtained, we verified that the nursing aids have knowledge classified as ' 'good' in relation to physicl characteristics of the premature newborn and also to the nursing care givem to them, whem not experiencing complications.
