This study refers to a literature review on the health-disease process in African-Brazilian community. The author utilizes the Taxonomy I of nursing diagnoses do point out the possible response patterns to the health problems / vital processes showed by this ethnic group since they were slaves. The African-Brazilian poverty and the insipient number of research papers related to this ethnic group lead the author to concluded that there is a social stratification by race and that urge to create an institucional task force to improve the social development of the African-Brazilian, and to research their health beliefs, practices, and values.Downloads
