Since the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency (APEX-Brasil) was created in 1997 a number of exportconsortia were founded with the support of the Agency and succeeded in Brazil, while others, such as theBrazilian Health Products (BHP), disappeared as soon as APEX-Brasil incentives ceased. A case study andanalysis was made of the evolution of the export consortia (Brazilian Health Products and Wines from Brazil− Integrated Sector Project (ISP) started as a consortium) in the period from 2002 to 2008. BHP startedwith 12 associated enterprises in the consortium phase and now, with the support of APEX-Brasil as is thecase of many others, is part of the ISP Brazil Medical & Dental Devices in which 130 enterprisesparticipate. The consortium BHP successfully met the project deadline which was about three years. Most ofthe enterprises acquired know-how in marketing and foreign trade and structured their own exportdepartments. In the ISP Wines from Brazil, the number of new wineries has increased from 6 in the consortium to 33 and there has been a considerable increase in the exports of wines and sparkling wines.Downloads
