Abstract

This is a discussion about the relationship between scientific paradigms and the difficulties most frequently faced by social researchers in choosing a method and procedures for quantitative and qualitative research. To contextualize reflection on science and associated explanations, the major changes suffered by the rational model inherent to modern science and the manifestation of emerging paradigms were emphasized to take into consideration the impact of this transition upon knowledge and research in the domain administration.
