Reflecting on competence beyond the functional perspective

Abstract

This work presented the subject of competence, not as essential for the performance of workers and organizations, but as something elaborated and reproduced in the form of a discourse. This approach examines the perspective in which characteristic subjectivity is understood as being produced and reproduced, because in the elaboration of discourse about competence, it is accompanied by production of the characteristic subjectivity. For this reason it was necessary to theoretically verify how the elaboration of discourse about competence takes place and about subjectivity as a reference. This is to change the conventional way of thinking about this question, which is increasingly evident in the field of organization.
