Abstract

The present work highlights the  potential of knowledge conversion on the practice of internal consulting. It aims to realize and explain the understanding of internal consultants concerning the role they develop in the conversion of knowledge into their daily practices. It has as reference some approaches on the role of advice and theories of knowledge creation, emphasizing conversion modes of knowledge in the daily practices. The article adopts as a methodological resource the understanding interview, which has as reference to interpret the meanings behind the consultants’ speeches about their practices. It notes through "sensitive listening" of ten internal consultants’ discourses from Petrobras - Petróleo Brasileiro SA, Business Unit UN-RNCE that although the internal consulting role has been founded to develop solutions to problems of the Company, its present practices are steeped in experience for the conversion of knowledge, established through social interactions with employees, requiring the development of skills to deal with diverse aspects that include these interactions.
