Infection by Listeria monocytogenes following renal transplantation: a review of six cases

Report about 6 cases of listeriosis in receptors of kidneys grafts from 13 days to 57 months post transplantation with classical immunossupression. Three of them had clinical features of meningites. Two cases had meningoencefalitic features on presentation and one patient presented only bacteremia. There was one fatal infection, the others cases eventually achieved a good infectious outcome. With additional data from literature the epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment of listeriosis are discussed.Downloads
