Resumo

This paper attempts to discuss the problem concerning interpretation of technical artifacts in Daniel Dennett's perspective. First, it tries a critical reconstruction of Dennett's claims about functional attributions by analyzing his emphasis in the interpreter constructive dimension and, on the other hand, it focuses on his lack of attention about prior conditions of interpretation of texts and artifacts. The second part of this article is dedicated to discuss the range of Dennett's analogy between texts and artifacts in order to suggest, finally, some alternative ideas about attribution and interpretation of functions.
