Peter James Harris is Associate Professor at Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) in São José do Rio Preto since 2009, where he is responsible for the discipline “Theatre:
Theory and Practice” in the Postgraduate Programme. He’s Head of the Department of Modern Letters. He has a BA in Education from Bristol University (1973), MA in Creative Writing from East Anglia University (1975); PhD in Irish Studies from the Universidade de São Paulo (1999). He did his postdoctoral research at the Department of Drama and Theatre of Royal Holloway University, London. He is author of Sean O´Casey´s Letters and Autobiographies: Reflections of a Radical Ambivalence (Trier, Alemanha: WVT, 2004), From Stage to Page: Critical Reception of Irish Plays in
the London Theatre, 1925-1996 (Oxford, Reino Unido: Peter Lang, 2011) e A Peça Irlandesa no Palco Londrino (São Paulo: Humanitas, 2011). At present, his research interest is the representations of the Apocalypse in London’s stage.
