Jennifer’s Body: the horror film industry the representation of women

This article aims to make an analysis about the way in which the horror film industry collaborates in the process of building the image of women and how this can influence the issue of “gender equality”. In order to observe the aforementioned phenomenon, a case study of the film “Jennifer’s Body” is constituted in order to note, through its repercussion in two different periods, the question around the representation of women, as well as the difficulty of inserting feature films in the cinematographic market that deviate from the existing ideology of how to carry out this representation. It is concluded, given the scenario of promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) developed by the UN in which one of the points raised is “gender equality”, that this analysis is of paramount social importance.
