Abstract

Saints Little Saints intends to be the first step of a research on the family feast and sacramental mode of life of the carioca (Rio de Janeiro) middle class in its richer fraction. Through the analysis if pious stamps of urban Catholicism called santinhos, we search to understand systems of change, mental representations and religious practices in a period between 1910/1960. Nevertheless ramifications with the three last decades of the twentieth century are also contemplated in the present article.
