The look of Palestinian immigrants in São Paulo

Abstract

This article is part of a master’s thesis, which has as its objective tostudy the Palestine immigration to the city of São Paulo, as well as its influenceon the development of this city. In this work, specifically we deal with one ofthe sources of the dissertation. It is in reality a case study: “Seu Abdul”. Theintention of this paper is to show the immigrant’s look, based in variousinterviews, to discover the reasons for his choice to come to Brazil, morespecifically Paul, his life, his period of adjustment, the construction of a familyand it’s current situation. In addition to Oral History, documents and records ofimmigration are used, accompanying his saga in Brazil, by adding photos concededby the interviewee, in intention to enrich the work.
