As proposições da economia pura, não importando a generalidade ou verdade que encerrem, não autorizam conclusões normativas, mas não podem ser ignoradas. . A economia social positiva pressupõe as teorias da economia pura e, com
relevância variável, as teorias de todas as ciências. Conclusões normativas - sob a forma do que não deve ser feito - são deriváveis das proposições da economia social, mas são ainda qualificáveis pelas especificidades do caso em questão.
Trata-se do que denominei Indeterminação de Senior; o hábito de ignorá-la e o chamado Vício Ricardiano. Faço aqui uma primeira incursão na história do pensamento econômico alemão. Wagner estava bem consciente da Indeterminação.
0 Vício dos economistas puros pode ter sido a motivação da luta de Schmoller. A Contenda do Método foi o primeiro grande conflito paradigmático entre economistas puros e sociais.
