The Salvador-Esplanada-Boquim Belt (Cinturão Salvador-Esplanada-Boquim – CSEB) is located in the northeastern portion of the São Francisco Craton in the states of Bahia and Sergipe, presenting two lithological strips of metamorphic rocks, called Gnáissico-Migmatítico Complex and Esplanada-Boquim Granulitic Complex. The present work covers field, petrographic, and lithochemical studies of the Gnáissico-Migmatítico Complex, northern portion of CSEB. There are medium-grade metamorphic rocks, from granitic to granodioritic composition and, subordinately, tonalitic, being common as evidence of migmatization processes, mainly in the western portion. Based on the lithochemical studies, the rocks were subdivided into sodic, potassium, and intermediate rocks and peraluminous to metaluminous character. Analysis of trace elements, rare earths, and Eu/Eu* ratios allowed to suggest metamorphic processes and crustal contamination, from a source of calcium-alkaline nature. Also from the lithochemical analysis, the rocks in this complex were classified as being from volcanic to syncollisional arc.
