Focusing on how to observe behavioural signs and on the individuality of each preterm newborn baby, this paper describes changes in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) in relation to the surroundings, to the daily care of the newborn and to parent counselling about the baby. These changes seem to influence the length of time the baby stays in the NICU.References
