Abstract

The author places the discussion of the relationship between Literary Studies and Cultural Studies, taking into account the polemic about the notion of text, the institutionalization of such approaches in universities, and the mutual implications of the different conceptions that Cultural Studies and Literary Theory have of each other, proposing a positive view of the tension between them.
