Abstract

This article intends to relativise Brito Broca's opinions about Corpo e Alma de Paris, by Tomás Lopes (1909); Paris, by Nestor Vitor (1911); Paris-Luz, Paris-Trevas, by José Augusto Correia (1914); 365 dias de Boulevar, by Theo Filho (1919), talking into consideration how travel literature was shaped at the beginning of the 20th century and the fact that the first travel books by Brazilian authors appeared at this time.
