Abstract

This essay wants to read Infância (Childhood) an autobiography by Graciliano Ramos, as a space to reflex over the paradoxical experience of forgiveness. Taking for base the theoretical elaboration developed by Jacques Derrida over the same theme, our analysis will privilege the passages in which Graciliano Ramos, at the same time remembers and disentangle the violence that victimized him, as he seeks to consider then from other ethical presuppositions.
