Abstract

Charoides Dillon & Dillon, 1945 is considered a synonym of Tulcus Dillon & Dillon, 1945 and all the species listed in Charoides are transferred to Tulcus as new combinations. New species described and figured: Tulcus diaphorus sp. nov., Hesychotypa balia sp. nov., Proplerodia piriana sp. nov. and Trachysomus clarkei sp. nov., all from Bolívia (Santa Cruz); from Brazil: Bucoides montana sp. nov. (Minas Gerais); Tulcoides tibialis sp. nov., (Hylaeia?); Oncideres immensa sp. nov. (Pará); Oncideres errata sp. nov. (Bahia to Santa Catarina, Goiás); from Trinidad y Tobago: Trachysomus wappesi sp. nov. Oncideres fabricii Thomson, 1868 is considered a synonym of O. cephalotes Bates, 1865. A key to the brown or black species of Trachysomus is added.
