Abstract

Although there is a growing tendency of the use of the phenomenological method in the research in business administration, some facts still continue confusing the researchers and inhibiting a more intense utilization. Among such factors is the adjective “phenomenological”, frequently used to indicate a kind of a supposedly truer or more accurate result. It is necessary to remind that the “phenomenological method” got its origin in the context of the philosophic speculation, and its transposition to the empirical research context necessarily creates problems to overcome. The present work aims to analyze such problems, presenting the phenomenological method in its origins in philosophy, pointing out the adaptations for its use in empirical research.
