Abstract

The objective of this work is to identify the intersection points in the management of two executives who marked two epochs, Jack Welch (General Electric) and Konosuke Matsushita (National and Panasonic) under the point of view of ethic and leadership, presenting the principles which influenced and formed the culture, affecting the results and the performance of the organizations which they directed. The methodology used is founded on the descriptive qualitative research, based on the analysis of the biographic content published in two books: Jack – Definitivo, Francis John Welch (2001) and Matsushita – Lições de liderança para o próximo milênio, John Kotter (1998). The conceived theoretical structure considered four aspects in the analysis, focusing the performance of the enterprise on the result, on the values, on the persons and on the future.
