Teaching practices of two school physical education teachers nith masters degree and the treatment of the conceptual dimension of the contents

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investe in teaching practice of two physical education teachers, whom work at Elementary Schools, with Masters Degrees in the field and have favorable positions regarding new proposals, which main contents of the conceptual dimension and teaching strategies were used in their classes. Through ethnografhic study, involving the observation and analysis of the classes, the teaching plans and interviews with students and other teachers, was found that the main contents of the conceptual dimension referred to the understanding of the meaning, objectives, principles and possibilities of knowledge related to the anatomy, nutrition, motor skills, physiology, health, physical capabilities, training, historical, social, economic, political, aesthetic, cultural aspects, rules, techniques, tactics of the integrating practices of the corporal culture. Several strategies can be used for conceptual contents treatment, however, those involving exhibitions, discussions, reflections about practice and problems resolution, were the most applied ones. The contents selected and the teaching strategies used by teachers were well accepted by the students, and it is possible to highlight opportunities for advancement in the treatment of the conceptual dimension of content, which favors the implementation of new practices, which best contribute to the student`s formation.
