ENTREPRENEURIAL ATTITUDE IN PERCEPTION OF INDIVIDUAL AND SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS

Abstract

Entrepreneurship has been consolidated as one of the pillars for the development of the country by generating income and jobs for the population. However, entrepreneurship is not centered only in the business world. In the current context emerges a new aspect of entrepreneurship, known as social entrepreneurship, whose main focus is the social mission. Within this context, the present descriptive study with quantitative approach aimed to identify the relationships between the entrepreneurial attitude of individual and social entrepreneurs. The population consisted of 136 managers of companies associated with the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Santa Maria and 36 managers of social organizations registered at a Partners Volunteers. We administered a structured questionnaire referenced in the model of Lopez and Souza Junior (2005). The results showed positive correlations, moderate to high, between entrepreneurial attitude and its dimensions. The Mann-Whitney test indicated a significant difference between groups in the social dimension. The other dimensions were not statistically significant for both groups.
