Abstract

This study aims to present a reading of Guimarães Rosa's novel "Buriti", included in his book Corpo de baile. Identifying his main bibliographical sources, it focuses on the analysis of some characters and their relations, like nhô Gualberto Gaspar, iô Liodoro e Lalinha. The characters are seen as empirical persons inside the Brazilian patriarchal social life as well as mythical manifestations of a Dyonisiac plot.
