Abstract

A reading of Vidas Secas and vaious of Graciliano Ramos´s critical texts, emphasizing the literary mission, the 30 novel and regionalism - understood in two modalities: "problematic" and "emblematic". The odd oposition of that author distinguishes itslef by identifying the "decadence of the Brazilian Novel" with symbolic swallowing act of the parrot.
