Abstract

The article systematizes the concepts related to Health education, at the undergraduate level, of physical education professors in Universidade de São Paulo (USP - University of São Paulo) and Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp - Campinas State University). According to this research study, Public Health is a marginalized perspective in courses. It is isolated in subjects that have a small number of hours and it has great difficulty in establishing contacts with the professional practice. Although it is an element of dissent within the conservative educational program, the specific disciplines, in both universities, seem not to have enough density to produce a curriculum that enables the development of Public Health.
