Abstract

The production of images is ruled by practices of meaning construction understood as scientific or artistic that involve apparently distinct forms of know-how. In this article we discuss, based on discursive semiotics, how these two statutes of the image relate and interpenetrate, creating the scientific and mythopoetical figuration of the astrophysical phenomena exhibited in the North American science fiction film Interstellar.

    Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado - specialization in film. Bachelor's and master's degree in Linguistics and Literary Studies in English at the University of São Paulo. Currently is a CAPES scholar in the same area and university.
