This paper briefly introduces to the Brazilian public the young Tibetan poet Sonam Tsomo Chashutsang through the translation of three of her poems originally written in English. Besides discussing the translation of culturally flavored words in Brazilian Portuguese, this article also deliberates on the situation of forced exile and the resultant identity crisis among those born and raised in exile.
