Abstract

The articles aims to analyze the main technological, economics and institucional
modifications related to increase of the importance of micro and small firms in the
decades of 80 e 90. Also are examined the numerical and quality aspects of the formal
employment created by firms at most 99 employes, as well the tendencies of public
policies towards to this group of firms.
