Abstract

The purpose of this paper is the dissemination of part of an instrument that can help hospital environments evaluation as well as being used by architecture professionals in the area of health in general, to create more humane, comfortable and quality spaces. From a literature review and from the results achieved in a research that was part of the development of the doctoral thesis, begun another study, still in developing, which has already contributed to some conclusions as these that originated this paper, with respect, specifically, to guidelines of comfort, quality and humanization of hospital facilities. The results of this study are some evaluation tables with suggested guidelines for obtaining high-quality environments. These tables are part of the instrument originated from the thesis, the AVALHOSP. It is expected with this paper that it will contribute to improving the hospital environments through the awareness of professionals who design hospitals or healthcare facilities
