This paper presents the study of aspects of the creative process of the staging of HQ, a play that was produced by the dance group Ballezinho de Londrina and in which a transposition of the static language of the comic book to the scenic language of dance is enacted, and homage is paid to the history of that art, its major authors and characters. As a theoretical and methodological foundation the principles of Genetic Criticism were used in order to access, evaluate and describe the creative process of the staging of the play from the records and materials preserved. The methodology replicates the procedures set out in the book Pedro Nava e a construção do texto by Contani and Panichi. As a result, it can be stated that the Ballezinho de Londrina group, when it transposes the printed static images of the pages of comic books to the language of the images in movement, performs a conversion of forms in which the characteristic features of the first language is appropriated to support the creation of the second language, what leads the public to aesthetically experience the play as if they are immersed in the pages of a comic book.
