Abstract

The purpose of this article is to investigate Roberto Alencar's creative processes, based on studies of his documents (notebooks, drawings, videos, photographs and writings). The 12th edition of the magazine “Murro em Ponta de Faca” (2016), an important publication on dance in Brazil, created by Companhia Carne Agonizante, of which Alencar was a performer, will be discussed here in more depth. He was responsible for the graphic production of the magazine, which was structured around five shows about the work of Franz Kafka, staged by the Company from 2002 to 2013. The preparation of this issue takes place in the confrontation between body, drawings, texts, photographs, videos and ideas that define the chosen images. A process that poses relevant questions about interdisciplinary interactions in the contemporary body, which will be discussed in the light of Cecília Salles' theories on the critique of creation processes, which is based on the semiotics of C.S. Peirce and proposes dialogues with authors such as Edgar Morin, Vincente Colapietro, Pierre Musso, Lucia Santaella, Helena Katz and Christine Greiner.
