Abstract

This paper seeks to show that the science of linguistics can contribute substantially to the study of organizational communication, highlighting as particularly important the research in the area of linguistic pragmatics, which studies human verbal behavior and, more specifically, human communication, whether oral or written, in public or private environments. The pragmatic search identifies the language resources with which people create their activities, identities, beliefs, ideologies, communities, knowledge, etc., as well as the strategies for their use. The paper defends a dialogue between studies of pragmatics and studies of organizational communication.
