Abstract

This work presents and discusses the change potential of a modality of psychological practice named Capacities Development Clinical Setting, in a dialog with the Winnicottian thought; in addition, it proposes a conceptual elaboration which differentiates integrated capacities from dissociated competencies. In the light of such differentiation, this clinical alternative can be understood as the constitution of a facilitating environment that favours both the development of incipient capacities and the integration of dissociated competencies, which then start being transitionally lived as creative experiences. This setting has been applied productively in a workshop aiming at the development of writing skills.
