Abstract

Cognitive development always happens according to the following alternating structure (figurative > operative <-> (operative > figurative) It means that we are within a dialectic according to which there is no figurative aspect without the corresponding operative one and viceversa, but where the effective dominance of one of them potentilizes the other dominance and so on. (In macrogenesis and microgenesis). There lies the origin of rhytms. The oscillations also depend on the level of development and on the modes of the interactions with the real. We call cognitive oscillations the passage from one level to the other, from the figurative mode to the operative and so on.
