A longitudinal study was made in a biotechnology company to understand the changes in Human Resources function caused by transformations in the business environment that required a greater contribution of this activity to company results. A search was conducted to identify the necessity of establishing new performance indicators capable of demonstrating the importance and contribution of Human Resources for the company business and the development and satisfaction of the employees. Initial information pointed out that the Human Resource function, when aligned with business strategies, becomes a relevant part of the value chain that may be introduced among company activities for results which may be directly or indirectly measured.
