Resumen

This article proposes a critical reflection on the increasing interaction of human mobility with global health. The idea that economic globalization did not bring forth a really full and free international movement of people is supported by this analysis, as well as the fact that most displaced people go to developing countries, which have already sheltered in their territories nearly half of all international migrants. The European response to the intense inflow of migrants and refugees over the last years and the recent Ebola epidemic in Western Africa are considered to be reasons for an increasing securitization of issues concerning human mobility. Finally, this article suggests that the centrality of the International Health Regulations should be resumed as the best way to guarantee the right to migration during worldwide health crises
