Leisure, Hospitality, Tourism and Rural Development.Abstract
This article focuses on the relationship between leisure and hospitality within the paradigm of rural development. Both phenomena are still at an early stage in the debate surrounding the development theories applied and reflected to the countryside. Thus, it is shown what is the current place of hospitality and leisure within the reflections made for rural development, providing new facets that aim to broaden the spectrum analysis of both phenomena as social demands. It is intended to assert the capabilities approach developed by Amartya Sen in order to subsidize this profundity, as well as substantiate the bias that tourism has as a link between all the issues involved. Thus, the article was built based on the theoretical definitions elaborated by many researchers in the field of hospitality and leisure, which underlie the construction of a critical repositioning the themes in rural development.Downloads
